It seems like our medical institutions are pretty good at diagnosing and treating acute diseases, but are pretty lost when it comes to chronic diseases.

I do know a girl now a woman who had untreated lymes disease for years and it still affects her now. she is from the uk and this disease is less common there...she would go to Europe every year multiple times a year but it was missed by doctors for at least 3 to 5 years, so id say chronic lymes disease is possible for people who were treated very late.

Got lyme in 2018. Was treated right away at a hospital (had the classic bullseye rash)

Beginning of 2023 I started feeling sick weak sore and foggy minded. Two weeks ago I got tested for a bunch of stuff and Lyme disease popped up. It had been 5 years since I was treated and still have it. Going to see a disease specialist to get treated again currently in ALOT of pain all the time
