Its easy and it makes sense. I went from no being able to code to being able to scrape APIs and do machine learning within 4 months. I'm not especially smart. Also, once you start using Numba and vectorised code, its Actually fast enough.

Seems to be a huge push for newbies to learn Python and JavaScript. Here's a comparison:

For uni I would say Python.
Bootcamps or self study: JavaScript.

Why?

One needs to decide whether their priority:
For learning DS&A, would say Python gives better foundation. Less verbose so more efficient, as well.
For shipping web apps, JavaScript is the winner.

When I was in college the programming professor taught C++ because apparently if you could learn that you could understand python & java easier. That was back in 2016 so idk how applicable that is now.

Also because it is a default choice in most university curriculums alongside C++ and Java.

Maybe you should also emphasize that Python is slow as a MOFO.

C++ is literally 100 times faster than Python.

Java isn't popular. It's well used, but isn't popular because people like it, it's "popular" because people are forced to used it.

Python is for programmers that don't know (or need to know) how HW works.

Seeing people describing python as easy to learn, it makes me feel a lot worse about myself.
