Python is an extremely popular language when teaching students programming. Whether it be at the college level, high school or even middle school.

Python is popular because the syntax is easy to read and has many uses, for example: Ai, machine learning, web app development, data processing, game creation.

It is also notable that Python is pretty much the sole language used in (nearly) all branches of science;.

Even if you never write real-world Python code in you life, programming concepts are very easy to pick up with this language which is the most important aspect for a beginner.

I've been interested in Python for a while now. I'm a total newbie to programming, and plan to learn web dev over this winter. Should I attempt to learn Python as well or wait until later?

@Stefan Mischook What do you think about Elm? Do you think it is "better" or more worth learning than React, Angular, Vue or maybe even JavaScript/ ES6 in general?

Stefan do you think there is a problem that Authors that make tutorials focus to much of the technical aspects of a language and to little on productivity.
Like a programmer that can do very advanced things but when it comes to finish a job it takes ages because he/she uses the most advanced way of getting something done. This is what the programmer thinks is the way to do something because this is what most courses teaches.
Like using loads of files and classes just to speak to a third party web API or similar.

I have done loads of tutorial about PHP and WordPress through Lynda, and TeamTreeHouse last year summer even I made my portfolio. I'm final year CS student and since I have taken Django with Python web programming on my Uni this year... I found Django and Python are real programming... still I'm confused which one to choose as a long run career? plus Stefan what do you recommend me to continue studying and being an expert from one of the two frameworks based on current web programming niche? Thanks from London

Quick question, would your Python course be good for someone learning Python who wants to become a data scientist? I.e. someone who has just finished university?

That means you do not want to make something for free or even youtube ads revenue is not your target
the channel here for marketting only. Is that right?

Hi Stephan, what's the best way to learn practical useful PHP coding? Lynda.com, Team Treehouse or books? Most of these teach very basic coding.

Well, this is why I don't recommend Python for self starter.

Hmmm I don't think Python is a good first lang. Better off imo going with true prog lang such as java, c, etc.
