Historically accurate or not, you made a lovely-looking Panzer I that really stands out with its camo scheme!
For me, modelling is more about telling a story than having 100% historical accuracy, though I can see the appeal of that too.

There's only so much you can do with Panzergrau, you can get that to look good with fading and streaking but there are so many cool camo schemes that are more rewarding to paint!

For that reason, I recently built a Tristar 1:35 Panzer 38(t) which I modified to look like the Swedish licence-built version, Stridsvagn m/41. It has a three-tone scheme and flags that add a bit of lovely colour and contrast, much like your Panzer I.

This is an excellent tutorial. Over 50 years building tanks and military models and there's still so much to learn!

Very interesting video Clayton. Love the camouflage. I have a can of the AK Camouflage Putty I got as a birthday present. I’m going to have to try it out.

Cheers,
Larry

Definitely time for a beer Clayton!!🍻🍻🍻
This little beastie turned out brilliant with really well done, restrained weathering. Do you reckon you would have done things slightly differently with a soft edge camo or proceeded exactly the same way?
Congratulations on an excellent year of enjoyable, educational content and on reaching a million YT views👏

Very nice. Just got the tamiya kit and will follow this scheme. I will have to rewatch this also to make a list of all the products I didnt know I needed! They all work well as the result shows. ( I can explain it to the wife with this logic and she might not even shake her head this time) Happy Christmas to all.

Great to see such a multi-coloured "Buntfarbenanstrich" done... they are rarely seen in, but in my eyes a bit more pleasing than the standard Panzergrau... I will defintely keep this video in mind, for whenever I get my hands on a kit of the early 6-wheeled Sd.Kfz. 231 which can also be done in such a colour... though getting the masking done properly in 72nd scale might be interesting.
Nice video as always and do enjoy your Christmas holidays (they always are a good oportunity for topping up the kit-cabinet 😅)!

It’s come up a treat Clayton! I was worried that the green was going to be too bright but it settled down very nicely. Great work mate.
Merry Xmas to you and your family and I hope Santa is good to you.
Take care and be safe.

Melé kalikamaka ( not from there but to be a little more original 😆) to you Clayton and to your wife as well! Enjoyed your videos as always ever since, what 1 year i think?, I’ve subbed. As for the cameo, nice way to go in doing the Spanish one as that makes it a little more original compared to others. As a history buff i want to state that it is interesting how the Spanish civil war saw the usage of ww2 equipment that became iconic (the stuka, the flak 88, and the panzer units). I wish that there would be model kits that also offer these types of schemes although one can indeed do their research and do it. Anywho, merry Christmas to you!

1) Determine if the pattern was standardized within the force. They usually are. 2) Realize that most of the time, it was the crews who applied the camo. They are NOT professional painters, usually. So they will be slop. 3) Realize that crews often didn't have access to spray equipment, so many of these patterns were painted on with brushes.

I love that you chose that Spanish camo! 🤩
