Forgiving people for being naturally stupid in their decisions (that impacted my life deeply negatively) has been freeing. 🦋

Yeah I hated it when the people I'm related to acted like Moray eels so I stopped swimming with them. Occasionally have since encountered something looking like a moray eel and I manage to steer clear. The trick is to identify them while they're morphing from human to moray eel and then identify who to avoid. Because now you know you can trust them to bite you if they get a chance.😊

True, but just because you have pain doesn't mean you have to be one.
Thank you Chase

My dad taught me something similar that his Cherokee grandmother taught him as a child.

A rock is what it is and you cannot control or change the rock once it is formed.

The rock doesn't change no matter how much you wish it to change or dream it will change in the future.

The rock in the center of us all is forged long ago to be what it is and there is nothing you can do to change that.

Accept that fact without doubt and instead spend your time carving your own rock.

I learned this in my trying to understand my father. Growing up was painfully abusive with taunts from my father telling me I was ugly and stupid. As an adult I was determined to understand all that I had gone through and to not perpetuate the cycle in my life. I learned from a psychologist that my father was doing only what he knew how to do. The cycle stopped with me. I found a way to forgive my father and understand him. Thank goodness our issues were resolved before he passed away in 1997. Imagine had I not gone to the therapist and going through the rest of my life with hate and resentment not understanding him and in essence not understanding my self. Chase, Thank you for sharing your invaluable information.

I have snorkeling in the same bay and came face to face with a scary creature... we stared at each other and then both backed up... near miss! I love visiting Pearl Harbour too... Hawaii is my happy place ❤ I'm glad your arm healed okay... they are worse than sharks.. so agressive

Great message. I am changing my self, a little pebble at a time, with the new believe ...
"How people treat you is their Karma. How you react, us yours".❤

I love that insight! Easier said than done but we can certainly practice to get to that place 😊 There’s a zen parable about a man being bumped over and over getting angrier by the floor just to finally see the man bumping him was blind. 🙏❤

Great way to not take it personally. IMO it's important to also understand that proclivities are still our own responsibilities. So even though I can (and should!) have compassion for those proclivities, in equal measure, accountability needs to also be applied. Proclivities are not to be used as excuses for harmful behaviors.
