Top 10 Cards that Cause Infinite Combos in MtG

Throughout Magic the Gathering’s history there have been countless cards that have, through one way or another, created an infinite combo. While there are plenty of cards that only have one very niche combo, there exist several cards that have proven to be the source of several different ways of going infinite. While infinite loops may not be the most common in competitive magic, there are several cards notorious for causing them that have become infamous within the community.

Really suprised Kiki jiki was only mentioned in passing and splinter twin was left out. Those are the two cards that immediately come to mind when I think infinite combos.

Hearing "Palin-chon" instead of "Palin-CHRON" is really sending me

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ghostly Flicker seems to have an extra effect of note if you take control of the opponent's permanent until end of turn. That card can is worded in a way that can make the theft permanent. The card doesn't say "Permanent that you *own* "

9:21 this is especially good because zirda can be a companion, so if you have 4 monoliths in your deck and draw 1. all you need is the mana to cast your companion and your good on colorless mana. combine infinite mana with walking ballista and you have game more than likely.

How can you have an "infinite" list without mentioning Intruder Alarm? That card was practically built for infinites.

I love Aluren. I have it in my cube, and while I have a few ways to go infinite with it in there (e.g. Cavern Harpy) it's actually just a great value card as well, as long as you have enough cheap creatures.

Ooze doesn't need a second card beyond Kiki; you can just make the tokens at the end of your opponent's turn and they'll untap and be ready to attack.

Maybe a list of the most powerful 2 card combos? There are so many ways to go infinite in MtG that I'm not surprised you missed some that are so obvious to other people. Sanctum Weaver+Freed From the Real is my personal favorite; infinite mana turn 3.

This just inspired me to build a cedh deck using Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh. All you would need is an Impact Tremor's, Cloudstone Curio, and Kobolds of Kher Keep. Once you get the Curio and Tremors on the field with Kobolds in your hand, you could cast your commander, then cast Kobolds, then loop the 2 creature's until everyone is dead. Hmmm. Thanks for for the inspiration. Dockside would slot in perfectly as well 😊

I’ve got a couple infinite combos in an Aesi commander deck of mine. One is Wizard class + fathom mage. Wizard class at level 3 lets you put a +1/+1 counter on a creature whenever you draw a card, and fathom mage says whenever a +1/+1 counter is put on it, you draw a card. So you draw one card, start an infinite combo to either make fathom mage huge, or more importantly, deck yourself and play laboratory maniac to win. Another combo in that deck is Time Stretch + Eternal Witness + Thassa Deep Dwelling or Conjuror’s Closet. Play time stretch for 2 extra turns, play eternal witness to get it back from the graveyard, end of turn thassa/conjurors closet flickers eternal witness, repeat for infinite turns. And with laboratory maniac I don’t even need to swing to win, I just deck myself the old fashioned way if I really want

Since a friend and I, who've been watching your card channels for years, started watching your MTG top 10s and I've been getting more interested in Magic, I've wondered if you'd do a list of cards that can create infinite mana combos. And eventually, other kinds of infinite loops. And, just earlier today...you finally did. I've been waiting a long time for this.

9:45 It's a bit more convoluted but Baslt Monolith + Voltaic Construct ( 2): Untap target artifact creature + March of the Machines or any other way to turn the Monolith into a creature, of which there are a handful of ways to do so.

"merchant scroll" cannot be used as the spell the Isochron Scepter repeatedly casts because it is a sorcery not an Instant...but it can go find the instant you want to put under the Scepter...

basalt and grim monolith both go infinite with power artifact. no creature or copy effects involved and therefore a lot harder to stop

Maskwood Nexux or Arcane Adaptation, can go infinite with cards that trigger off one creature type to produce a token of another type. For Example, Turntimber Ranger gives you a wolf token whenever an Ally enters the field. The cards above allow the wolf token to be an ally, triggering it infinitely. Then add something that deals damage when a creature enters the battlefield, and you wipe everyone out.

Also, Food Chain is another staple in General Tazri Commander decks. Using Eternal Scourge, Misthollow Griffin, or Squee the Immortal, you have infinite creature mana to keep bringing out your Commander, allowing you to seek out another ally. Eventually you have enough ally ETB triggers to end your opponents.

Exquisite Blood will continue to grow in this regard as more cards cause detrimental effects when you gain life, like Sanguine Bond which makes your opponent lose life...
