ALSO If you’re trying to say the centering is off… you’re clearly not looking at the sides properly. The slab makes it look thinner cos it’s towards one side of the plastic… look properly and you’ll see it’s perfect.

I think one grader can look at it and be more critical than another, and grade it at a 10… humans aren’t the same. However, there should be a standard for card grading.

Honestly I think I'll go with Beckett they're more pricey per card but the subgrades make it so they actually have to justify their grade on some level.

They also can damage your cards and not tell you. Happened to me several times

Mate the grades are bullshit, no way do they look at them carefully enough to grade properly, they just glance and rush them through

Psa is a grab bag. You send in a really good card and it’s 20% 8, 40% 9, and 40% 10. They spin a wheel to decide it’s grade.

I had a friend crack a PSA 6 Dark Gyrados and re-submit it, came back a 10 through PSA

It depends who is grading the card everyone has different options

They couldn't upscale their staff and the overall size of the company properly after they cgot overflowed with demand. No wonder the grades are bullshit now...

I think it depends on the graders mood. Just send a tip in the box with some snacks

I had the opposite problem, Opted for the "express" service level and my card came back a 3. A THREE. The amount of damage on that card is so small, it should be a 9 or 8.

The issue is they utilize a singular grader to analyze the card rather than having several or even a dozen or so employees grade it and taking the average or the median.

From doing business with PSA for a while I sent in a few cards if given a 9 or 10 would be worth up to 10k plus. I payed 50$ per card and got an 8, 8, gem mint 10. So eventhough I "should have paid more" for that gem mint 10 that's now how it works. Also they grade with AI with a human eye so they have baselines for what makes a 8 vs 4 vs 10 etc.

That’s why I resubmit the same card 2-3 times to Chase that 10 😂😊

I had the same problem with PSA about the grading of two full arts of Lillie (the UPR 151 in french and the SM-P 397 in Japanese). Both came back graded as 6 while being faultless at the exception at a slight miscentering on the UPR one (not a single white dot or scratch on both cards). I broke the casing and I send them to an other grading company (Collect Aura in my case) and, the UPR came back with a 9.5 [as expected because of the miscentering at the back] and the SM-P came back with a 10.
So since, when I want to grade cards, I don't go to PSA anymore.

A AI should grade the cards via scans. The old system should be thrown away.

I heard a funny acronym for PSA: Please Send Again.

Problem is that PSA doesn't do sub grading. You just get a slab back with a number, and that's it. If they included the sub grades, then maybe people wouldn't have to return their cards for a higher grade.

I find the less cards you send, the better the grades. Its as if the grader has enought ime to actuallu appreciate the cards rather than it being a chore to go through 150 jungle pikachus and a few random full arts.

I talked with customer service, they said they have not begun implementing the Genamint technology into grading yet. As of the date of this comment.
