TikTok CEO: 'We are not owned by the Chinese government'

Mr. Shou Zi Chew, CEO of the social media app TikTok, has testified before US Congress amid growing security concerns around user data.

Mr Chew said “let me state this unequivocally, ByteDance is not an agent of China or any other country” before mentioning Project Texas, a proposal that would move all US data to domestic servers.
