Thank you - and thank you so much for your support for Lost in the Garden, it means a lot. Amazingly, somehow, it's shortlisted for the Nero fiction award this year, which is quite mind-boggling. This has all been a fantastic adventure. Thanks for being part of it!

I've been watching you for a few months now, and am really enjoying your videos. I am older, and have felt a bit stuck in what I gravitate towards reading. You have helped me explore new authors. Thank you so much for that!

Willow!!! I love your lists! Have you ever thought of doing best backlist books you read this year? I would be, and likely the rest of your fans, interested in that too. ❤

Lost in the Garden took me by surprise. I'd heard good things but wasn't expecting to fall in love with that book as much as I did. I'm picking up a copy of James from the library next week and am looking forward to reading it

My favorite on your list is Alien Clay (for which I have a wacky head-canon idea that this is a prequel to Jeff Vandermeer's Area X, meaning Kiln is the originator of what's going on in the Forgotten Coast), with James a close second or tie. My favorite this year is one I don't think I've seen you encounter yet, Francis Spufford's Cahokia Jazz, an alternate history detective story in which a big chunk of the US is still indigenous because more Native Americans survived smallpox etc and were able to stave off colonization. It's incredible and seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle in what was really a great year for books.

Btw I agree 100% about the Booker.

And, I've got to say, I kept bouncing off Blood Over Bright Haven because the jacket copy makes it sound like it's just not for me. But you finally talked me into giving it a try.

Good luck on the move, and thanks.

Loved both parts of your best books of the year. Last year "Blood Over Bright Haven" was one of my favorite reading experiences, only surpassed by the conclusion to "The Dandelion Dynasty", "Speaking Bones". Looking forward to your videos in 2025 as well.

My TBR list can only get so LONG, Willow. My poor Wishlist!

I'm so glad you did a video on Blood Over Bright Haven. It was on my list but I bumped it up because of your review. I'm almost finished with it and I'm in love! Thank you so much for giving me the nudge I needed to read it. You know, it might give your channel a boost to read and review the Wicked book. Right now, about half the videos on my homepage are related to The Wizard of Oz in some form. Seems the algorithm is really pushing any related content.
