I got an old laptop. It is 10 years old, and even back then, it was pretty slow.
I was wondering if installing a Linux distro like Zorin OS could give it a new life.

I remember the first time that I wasted hours playing Tetris... As I drove across the bridge into the city the next morning to go to work, I started noticing all the building shapes in the downtown core, and strategically working out in my mind where I could drop Tetris blocks in between the buildings! I had a good laugh at myself! lol

So super excited I found this video!!! I've got an 11 year old HP laptop with similiar specs but with 64 bit. Had already decided on Zorin lite but was really intimidated about installing, etc. Thank you so much for showing the entire process!!!! Not procrastinating any longer. Gonna take the jump. I'm DONE with Windows! I have a Win 8.1 Toshiba, and eventually that OS will be replaced as well. And I really enjoy your sense of humor. Very informative and entertaining!!

We had a laptop with amd c-50. Very slow but I used it for auto clicking a league account to lv 30 through custom games. Reason i liked it is it had 9 watt power consumption. Unfortunately we threw it out. Was good for afk/botty stuff

Zorin is a great distro, I probably would've put Arch or something based on Arch on there because I love the AUR, but Zorin is still a great choice.

Decent video, I wish you would've showed how bad the performance actually was on Windows 10 but I get why you wouldn't want to. Windows is a pain in the ass to work with especially on old hardware. Keep up the good stuff 👍

Ubuntu dropping 32 bit support is stupid when Debian is still supporting it

I installed the the new Zorin OS 16.1 Lite on my wife Netbook with Dual Core Celeron N3350, 500GB HDD, and only 2GB of soldered RAM without any expansion slot, oh and i install the 64 bit by mistakes, so far performance is decent, better and usable for light daily task unlike that crappy Windows 10 that is so laggy, at least my wife netbook found it's second life now

Nice video. I'm downloading the new Zorin 16.1 "Lite" version myself. I am going to be doing a bunch of installs on a number of 32-bit desktop and even a few laptops. I've been needing to find a 32-bit OS for them and get them out of my storage area, but hopefully with Linux on them, they'll be useful enough to someone to actually give me some money for them. Most of them were free or negligible cost, so if I make even a few dollars, it will be time well spent to have fun.

I've also been looking into Puppy Linux and Tiny Core Linux. Have you ever played with either of those? Tiny Core Linux will run on practically anything x86 based, I think even back to the 486 era. I have a couple early Pentiums and P-IIs I'm going to try it out on.

Bro I've an old laptop. 3.7 Gig Ram, 1 TB HDD, and it came with win 8. I installed zorin lite but it's lagging a bit. Can i install the zorin core? Maybe it's more stable?

The sky is blue more news at 10. It’s Linux it’ll run on your toaster oven… in fact your smart toaster already runs Linux.
