If you guys want to know who made the paintings of those mammoths at 1:22-1:48 and 9:53-10:20 - it's a Czech painter named Jirka Houska, a great chap, and he's making cryptozoology themed paintings rather regularly. He also has a youtube channel focusing on art and cryptozoology as well, though the absolute majority of his videos are in Czech.

The paintings of a mastodon at 9:30 and of a mammoth at 7:44 are by Czech painter Zdeněk Burian (died in 1981), who was not only a prolific paleoartist but also illustrated all sorts of sci-fi and adventure books, from Jules Verne books to travellogs. His paintings are absolutelly awesome, it's a great shame they necessarily had to become outdated as research advanced. There's a muzeum dedicated to him in Štramberk and it's worth the dime.

Something to keep in mind about the lion sightings/hearing it roar is that jaguars used to roam in what is now the US. They've only really stopped coming north of Mexico in modern times because of humans & the various border walls/other blockages. Before someone says that jaguars have spots or that people would know the difference: 1. Jaguars were 1st written about academically in 1758. 2. They are more closely related to lions than other big cats. 3. There are multiple genetic mutations seen both in jaguars & other big cats that could allow for misidentification. Most notably leucism, amelanism, & erythrism.

Rather than lions, those large cats that roared may have been jaguars, which likely had a much wider range during Pre-Columbian and Colonial times

Several Native tales that depict mammoths talk about them being carnivores. For some reason this is never talked about. Everyone seems convinced they were herbivores.
