Nah mate. I just worked on an edge around a neighborhood that had overgrowth in the cracks just like at 4:22 and that little demo already looked like I would've had an easier time than using a shovel and this isn't even to mention that my string trimmer string was just getting eaten away like nobody's business. This has a very specific purpose and you still barely used it for that application.

Thanks for sharing your demo. They should have included hardware to secure it to your weed trimmer instead of you having to fashion your own. I find most things from China are poorly made, cheap materials and don’t work the way they demo in their ads. You did a fantastic job showing how poorly it worked. Thanks again!

I saw it/ see it, as an additional tool in the cabinet, that will only be used occasionally, for the right reasons (as seen in the adverts, and NOT a replacement for the usual system. There are other useful cutting heads for specific jobs too, like the angled 5? blade steel cutter, for tuff over grown Shrubs, and very young trees. Again, full secure protection would be a must.

You need to make video with traditional trimmer head and line. In addition play it at 20x, as the wire commercials do, you be shocked how amazing the time tested, professionally engineered trimmer head works.

I made a comment about the viability of this product my concern was the broken wires with the problem of punctures to both tyres and persons this was in regards to a post on Facebook I mentioned that although I use twist wire brushes on steel I'm a metal fabricator I would not use one anywhere that I would drive ride my motorcycle or ride on mower as I have in the past ended up punctures in all, as well my concerns were of a physical nature ie standing on or eye injury I concluded my comment by saying although I had not personally used the product and I could not vouch for its effectiveness I would be happy to hear otherwise... my post was removed in less than 2 minutes I tried to repost I could and still cannot retrieve same add on Facebook...I think that about somes up the worth or rather worthless of what I think to be a con job thanks for taking a bullet for the team and trying it out was not surprised by lack of effacy regards Steve Champion 👍

From this video I can see the machine is pretty violent, as it tears into stuff and kicks back. Plenty of safety gear is in order, and I wouldn't be using it in shorts. Bits of wire are certain to fly off sometimes. You would keep people well away when using. In regards to the issue of the regular monofilament plastic line always breaking - I had in mind modifying my brush cutter head and fitting 2 short lengths of steel chain - smallest size I could find with sufficient strength not to break - but never got around to doing it. If such a thing did break the piece of metal would be a deadly projectile. That is why all these line wackers use plastic.

I was wanting to see how this worked getting grass between road and curb and cutting along curb in yard.

Good review both videos. Yeah its BS. The ads I have seen don't sell it as a purpose specific device, but as a universal replacement for line. The trick to conserving line is just being more careful with it. Line is great because it does a good job at almost everything. It's a consumable. If you don't want to use up your line on brickwork (and you don't have the patience to do it carefully with a line) just use poison like you say. Or use an edger and a shovel. There is always more to learn but I have been using a line trimmer about 20hrs a week for longer than I care to think about.

Thanks for the video. I love my FS91 stihl. Very similar to the last model you had. I was strongly considering buying one, and after that, likely will not. Saved me $30.

I recently used a brush cutter that reminds me of this Sthil, but I was disappointed in the results

This item is marketed as being suitable to fit all trimmers. IT DOES NOT . I also feel that it would be dangerous fitted incorrectly to any old trimmer. I'm just waiting to read that someone has been seriously injured by this stuff flooding the market.

Please take note people, I'm not a gardeners A hole but I've been a metal worker for 40 years and we use those wire brushes on our angle grinders. While they are very effective, they are extremely dangerous. Those thousands of wires ware out after a while and when they decide to leave the center of the armature they leave at very high speed and not only do they stick into your clothes and skin, but if you don't have goggles on they can go deeply into your eyes. They are NOT a beginners tool. Ask your local doctor how many times they've heard about people getting these wires in their eyes. Like I said, effective , but potentially dangerous. Of course the manufacturers won't say that. I saw a guy that put some cable ties, or zip ties depending on where you're from on this trimmer and it worked good enough for him, so just think about it.

I honestly reckon the Saber Cut power Cut (which looking at some of the fitment gear you had there, you've had before) is a far superior trimmer head. I find they do wear out after extensive use though but far out when they are in good nick they just carve scrub and dense overgrowth like you wouldn't believe.

The longevity (or lack thereof) of mine is certainly from abuse though to be fair.

Yeah I have a brand new FS 240 Stihl and it won't fit at all even though it claims "universal" attachments included.

Anyone who runs a trimmer with shorts on is looking for bad results.

Stihl actually makes a universal housing adapter for those attachments
