String works just fine and you can round out the grass kinda like a fade haircut and gives it a better look imo.

I recently began my edging journey and my life is so much better, my lawn looks incredible now that I edge all over it. I even edge on my neighbor lawns, sometimes I go around to random houses and edge. I even edge at my school now, and you wouldn't believe it but they pay me to edge on their lawns.

An edger is used for overgrown thick grass and to make NEW edges, and string trimmer is perfectly fine and more efficent to maintaince said edge!

It’s not impossible to do with the string. It just takes more either string or talent.

Edging changed my life for good. Before I found edging, I was a no life loser. But after I started edging, I got a solid career, doing good in studies, my parents are proud of me, etc. I love edging in my school. It calms me😊
