Both men and women want time to practice and play the field, so there's nothing wrong with saying that he just wants to "have a good time." Plenty of women are vocal about their physical needs now, and want the same thing.  He just needs to weed out the more serious ones up front, and make sure to keep his distance in between meets, so things stay the way they are (don't stay the night if you think it might lead somewhere).

Some guys can't afford to be up front about just wanting casual sex with no involvement. It's easy to get sex but they lose the unearned benefits of the natural affections of a woman.
