Unless you work nights I think the cell phone flashlight app is more than enough. The cell also takes place of carrying a notebook. There is so many things a cellphone can do to make life easier. It’s definitely the most useful thing you can carry and use on a daily basis. Although, knives and watches are my weakness when it comes to edc.

I enjoy watching Taylor get bit by the watch bug and slowly build his collection. I’m calling it now, a year from now he will be looking into purchasing a vintage Rolex or Tudor.

$450 for a flashlight? You gotta be kidding me 😂 it's a flashlight.

I disagree with the comment about people who aren’t I to EDC have the every day carry. I look at EDC from a practical pov. My grandfather was a career hunter and if there’s one thing he always had was a cross body leather pouch in which he had gear he never changed out unless it wore out or an item broke etc. Same principle for his non hunting EDC. He taught me about EDC before it was EDC and to be honest I believe EDC is as personal as style. Some people have reliable gear they see no reason to switch out and others like you can switch depending on the scenario. But me I keep my gear consistent for the situations I come across.

I love EDC and I'm pretty consistent with my carry since I do the same thing every day. With that being said when I'm not at work all day I'll switch out my stuff. Staples are:

Handkerchief of some sort
Knife or razor
Phone
Stripped down grey BIC lighter
Wallet (I cycle threw a few)
And at least car key.

My favorite wallet is the wingback for exactly the reason you mentioned.. I hate folding bills, I love customizing options and high quality, that‘s why the wingback.

When he says people who aren’t into edc are the ones who only have one, unchanging edc is wrong in my opinion. I’m really into edc but I just can’t afford to be changing it every week LOL

The main issue I have with any flashlight that doesn’t recharge easily like Olight’s do, is that you will only have maximum light output when the battery is new and fresh. Every single use after that is at diminishing outputs. At least when it’s rechargeable, you can guarantee it’s always cranking out the lumens.

That doesn’t even take into account some of these flashlights that use rare battery sizes.

I know some people like being able to change batteries when power isn’t available but that’s really not a concern these days. Keep a car charger or a battery pack with you. Never been without power but I always seem to have issues finding batteries.

Personally I don't think that if you're on a budget that something like rotation is important.
~40€ Ontario Rat 2
~20€ Leatherman Style CS
~18€ Casio W800-H
~17€ Lumintop Tool AA 2.0
~7€ Tombow pen
~7€ Moleskine Cahier dotted (price for the 3 pack)

~110€
Is it the perfect setup for me? No. But for the price it's the best bang for the buck for me that I carry every day and I don't see a reason to replace anything if it still works.
That's why the videos with a set budget are more interesting to me than the ones with very expensive stuff (it's still neat to see what's available when money isn't that big of a factor to take into consideration).

Of course I'm still interested to see what's new and what other people like to carry and why. It's cool to see what manufacturers do to up their game, what new features or improvements new models have.

I was a watch collector first and recently started buying knives during lockdown 😊

I started with minimalist wallets, then got into multitools, then flashlights, and right now knives. So yeah, Best Damn EDC did influence me to splurge a little bit more 😂

The Eagtac D25A (and I believe the D3A) are also great 14500/AA battery lights. They’re both about $75(ish). 😊

A box cutter was the one school supply I bought on my own along with spare blades back in primary school and it was always pretty damn useful. Watching these videos really reminded me of that, so I'm probably end up getting one. Plus they look far cooler than the plastic ones for school.

Something seems to be missing from most edc go kits. The how to field manual. Very few people can practice enough to know the procedures with reflex knowledge. We should include the field manual we use to train in our edc kit. Mine is a 35 year old US Army Survival Guide. The same book, and it's weathered now. I throw first aid books in my trunks.

Another great update. Really like the production value. You and Siers have inspired me to finally post my EDC.
