DISCLAIMER (Of course, I'd have one 😁)
Hey, you might think that this info makes me your lawyer, but it doesn’t and I’m not. Sorry, but I AM NOT YOUR LAWYER unless we have an engagement agreement. I am just providing public information here, like a library does, and am not providing you with legal advice about your situation. So, it would be totally unreasonable for you to conclude we have an attorney-client relationship just because you're viewing this information.

Beeing arrested and resisting in Japan often causes them to hold you down and then roll you in a Blanket so you can not harm yourself nor anyone else.

Another German prison fact: Germany doesn’t press charges if you escape prison because of the human feeling of trying to escape, they will charge you tho if you escape with your jumpsuit because it’s government property.

German here. Seeing a judge in less than 24 hours is actually not our police being just that efficient; it’s about your fundamental rights. The idea is that the police shouldn’t be able to restrict someone’s freedom without a judge allowing it. Therefore, within 24 hours, you are supposed to get in front of a judge who is not jet doing your actual trial, but deciding whether you stay in pre-trial detention, be released on bail, or even be released without bail. If a bad cop decides to arrest you despite the fact that you did nothing wrong and there is no evidence against you, that judge is the one who will mere hours after your arrest order the police to release you at once.

In Japan If you are arrested, you can be held for up to 23 days, with a possibility of extension, without being formally charged with a crime. You can also be interrogated at any time with or without a lawyer.
Many times the police just torture day and night the person with questions until they confess, which is a huge problem and makes the japanese police force one of the most incompetent.

As a person who lives in Japan,
"Mushi Mushi" = "insect insect"/"ignore ignore"
"Moshi Moshi" = "Hello" (when using a phone)

In Russian its not. If you got arrested you are transferred to a pre-trial detention cell. After the court you will go to the jail (if its needed)

Someone from my homeland was unfairly held in jail in Japan for a drug-related crime, and he authored a book about his time there. It was completely harsh and inhumane, especially to him, a foreigner. It was in the 1990s, so it's probably not as bad currently now.

I lived around the corner from a dude who murdered somebody when I was about seven.

Took him like two years to get his trial. He's in prison now, but I don't think he should be.

In Japan they can use force to get a confession, can deny you access to a lawyer, etc.

Another fun fact about prisons in Japan, when you get sentenced you must choose between rice and bread, and you will only be able to eat that for all of your sentence and it is a supper slow process to change it

In Japan if you're formally charged and put on trial, you're going to be found guilty. Their prosecutor success rate is about 99% for various reasons (none ultimately good for society).

Also, taiho-jutsu is literally "arrest technique, " which is fun.

※ It’s not “mushi mushi ”, but “moshi moshi ”
