In the UK a little known law in the Metropolitan Police Act 1839, makes it a criminal offence to "wilfully and wantonly disturb any inhabitant, by pulling or ringing any door bell, or knocking at any door" - and can face up to 14 days jail.

Yes, you can be arrested for this. My cousin and his friends were caught for this in 2014. Cousin got sent home, his friends got booked on trespassing but we basically just fined.

ETA: I’m pretty sure my cousin was just sent home because his father was the senator at the time.

Just remember
Trespassing in the uk is completely legal as long as you leave once you’re told to and you don’t break anything.
Even the “you will be prosecuted if you pass this point” signs mean nothing.
It’s only illegal if you don’t leave after being asked or if it’s highly specialised under law like a train line or an army base, otherwise you’re good to enter.
