Tummy Tuck Recovery 1 Week Post Op

Показать описание
You're one-week post-op from your tummy tuck procedure. Now what?
At your follow-up appointment, your care team will remove your compression garment and Dr. Diederich will assess your healing. You'll have sutures in your belly button that will be removed at this appointment.
After removing your sutures, gauze will be placed on your belly button to help maintain the shape. When your belly button has fully healed, you may want to start using an ear plug for more compression. It is important to clean your belly button 1-2 times a day with hydrogen peroxide on a cotton swab. Allow your belly button to dry fully before replacing your belly button plug.
It's normal to still have discomfort and you may still not be walking upright. You will still notice swelling and possibly bruising. Continue taking your pain medications as needed. You will most likely still need assistance with your normal activities like showering or dressing. Remember that your incisions are still healing so do not apply any ointments or lotions to the surgical sites.
You may be able to slowly increase your walking but remember to rest when needed. Continue to prioritize good nutrition and remember not to smoke at this time. Do not forget that you still have a lifting restriction of 20 pounds and you cannot engage your core muscles.
