I've never played the original Fallout, but I've seen enough about it to know that this song was absolutely the perfect choice to play in the ending, because it perfectly fits the emotions the ending gives you.

After everything you've done, venturing out into the great unknown, putting your life on the line, destroying a weird mutant computer monster intent on making everyone a mutant, all so you could get a water chip to save your vault, after all of that, your reward was being banished back out into the wasteland, never to return. And as you sit back, watching the Vault Dweller slowly walk aimlessly into the desert, you wonder if anyone at Vault 13 would miss him or even know of his many sacrifices to get the water chip. That paints the perfect picture of how bleak and unforgiving the world of Fallout is

When I hear this song, I think of a comfortable image.

I imagine myself sitting by a fire place, sipping hot chocolate while outside it’s snowing, everything around me is comfortable…warm browns and oranges, a warm blanket on me as I sit there on the floor…alone.

It’s comforting but it’s lonely.
Listening to some of the songs from the ink spots is so comforting yet so somber, you can tear up at its sad tune or sit in comfortable silence as you just relax alone.

Being alone is uncomfortable at times, sad and nightmarish and other times it’s heavenly to be alone, to have a moment to yourself to enjoy yourself and to be happy or even simply be comfortable to be alone…like drinking hot chocolate by a nice warm fire on a winters day.

The songs by the Ink Spots aren’t just sad and make you feel sad being alone, it also achieves making you comfortably somber depending on your mood and the circumstances.

Like being stuck in an under water city or a wasteland with nightmarish creatures can feel sad, scary and terribly lonely but other times like the one I have of sitting comfortable on your own on a cold day drinking hot chocolate…music really matches the mood you want to feel and or it can make you feel things depending on the circumstances.

This is just me rambling because this song is just so damn comforting.
