Hiya serafina,
No wonder your smiling, with weather like that 🌞 wish all cyclists had your outlook on life 👌
I'd say 80% are nice, they'll wave and smile, the other 20% completely ignore you, but i suppose we arnt all the same, im very frugal with what cycling clothing i buy, and arnt influenced by brands etc,
I too like to be seen in high visibility clothing, especially during this time of year in the uk, its dark by 4pm,
Keep the great videos coming 👍😊

Great Point, there are two sports that always loved to do but when encountering people doing it, was intimidated. Ski and cycling. both dominated with brands and people who care about the gear and the material involved, rather than the actual activity.

Yeah the snobbery is awful! I wish there was more civic everyday cycling around town, for shopping, to work etc. I for one find that eBikes are the best thing both in very hot and very cold weather, unless for local rides in flat areas. I don't have a car and I do everything by bike. For large grocery shoppings it's great to have an "Andersen Shopper" with the bike adapter...

Just wear whatever is comfy and keeps me warm or keeps the sun off but don't wear lycra. The weather here in Adelaide could not be better for cycling at the moment. Beautiful one day and better the next.

Two other great advantages of lycra as well.
Its UV protection as well. Just check out your lily white legs when you are wearing shorts on a video.
Spandex is lightweight, stretchy and slippery, it protects you from gravel rash when you have a fall.
There are valid safety reasons why lycra is worn, cyclists do not just wear it for looks.

Great clip, love the bit on wearing bright clothes while riding, plenty of Lycra available in bright colours, if people don’t like Lycra than the orange and yellow work wear tops are good ( long sleeve for sun protection). As for my preference mtb shorts and a loose fitting top, either a riding jersey or a bright work wear top, I find most of the Lycra tops to tight.
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and all the best for 2022 🎄🚴‍♂️😎

I also never thought I would wear lycra until someone suggested chamois shorts. Now I love my shorts and winter tights. I have a couple pairs from Specialized but my favourites are from Louis Garneau.

My favorite cycling gear so far has been photcramatic lens. I'm back and forth between sun and shade and don't have to remove my glasses. But, I was the same way at first. No cycling clothing or clip in shoes. That changed quick when I realized the comfort.

It really doesnt matter how you look on a bike, or what you wear. That being said, lycra feels great & is a motivation to maintain a midrange body weight.
On gravel bikes I wear shorts & teeshirts. The one disadvantage of baggy shorts is safety - they can catch on your seat & flip you to the ground. My lycra shorts cost $35 and are more comfortable (very good padding for very long rides) than the Santini's, which are designed for racing

Don’t get started on the great debate though… the ‘right’ sock height!
