How To Repair Your Recliner: Removing and Replacing Your Recliner Back

I bought a really nice used chair recliner in two parts. When I went to put the back on only one side slipped in and I couldn't get it to unlatch so I could do it right. This video helped me a lot. I got this chair brand new from American Furniture and within A couple of years it started to fall apart so I opened the back and could see that one of the bolts had come loose so I took several wrenches to see if I could tighten it up, that didn't work so I tried hex keys and that didn't work, so I was really in a stump. Then I saw this video and it showed me how to remove the back and it was easy sailing from there, I also discovered that all the screws were coming out, so I tightened them all, thanks again.

You just saved me a minimum $165 repair charge! The Bolts on one of the KD brackets on the back of my sofa recliner worked themselves loose from the wood frame over time. Knowing how to take the back off helped me get a better look at the problem and both bolts were just sitting near the bottom of the seat. I reattached the bolts and slipped the bracket back on the ears and voila! Good as new! Thank you!
