Bypass a Recliner Motor Switch - Get Your Recliner Moving Again

If you can't get your recliner moving, the switch might be broken. If it is, this method will get it moving until you can get a new switch.
Note: if the motor side 5 pin DIN connector is male, just flip the jumper wire locations I show here.
Above all: Be safe! If you're not comfortable with 120VAC / 24VDC circuits, reach out to a licensed electrician or recliner service provider.

Thanks for this. I just had both of my recliners stop working on a 3 year old couch and they both died within 6 months of each other. If I plug the power supply in, the light on the power supply immediately goes out as if there's a short somewhere. I then pulled the 5-pin plug that goes to the switches and the power supply will stay on and not go out (leading me to believe there is a short in the switch). I then did what you showed in this video and jumped the pins and was able to get the recliner to work both ways! I now ordered replacement switches. Thank you so much for this I was trying to figure out which connectors to jump when I came across this video. Perfect!

So I pulled Okin lift chair motor out... I put wires in like described. Not get getting anything. It does have solid power. Unless I'm doing it wrong... Thoughts... What are you ground it to. The video doesn't show clearly...

My recliner has control buttons located on the armrest cup holder. The led lighting, USB, and headrest control works but the recliner button does not. Is it a to/from connection to the button in the armrest?

Hello Survivor I am making a diy router table with a drill & I don't have a slid rail. I just have this recliner deal I snatched off a sofa in the boonies to flip. Never did flip so I will be using the to rais the drill as is my router do trim custom crown trim.
I was thinking maybe splice cable to a DC v 12 /9 really ill just be lowering it few times to change out bits. Thank u for video Happy 2022
