Its about time that Midge Ure received a Knighthood for all his work in the music industry. And also for his charity work.

The impact, scale and importance of Band Aid/Live Aid are unprecedented and unsurpassed and I'm proud to be a part of the generation. 80s forever!

I don’t understand how anyone could criticise Band Aid. It is saving lives and raising awareness, and Bobs passion for it is just incredible. These men deserve total respect for what they have done.

Midge Ure - the most underrated musician ever. The men who create my musical taste, who help me to survive all tough moments in my life. Thank you Midge!

Bono's line 'tonight thank god it's them instead of you'... Still sends chills down my spine.. I'm 54 remember first hearing that.. Years later he talked about how singing that line made him feel uncomfortable.. But that was the point, it made people feel guilty and ultimately put their hands in their pockets ❤

I was a teenager Xmas 1984 and it's now the same distance between now and then and then and WW2! Insane.

No Internet, no mobile single and the concert 7 months later were the most incredible feat of achievement. It was unique, and ground breaking. I lived and loved it. Do not let the modern naysayers tell you anythingelse....they WEREN'T THERE!

Midge is right ..everyone has an opinion. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t make them a “hater”…it just means they have an opinion which may or may not defer from yours

We all remember the impact of the news report on Ethiopia and the sheer frustration. Band Aid was inspiring and groundbreaking. All the negative comments are for now not then. Even the song is of its own, known by many and still raising money for people in need. Great interview and love Midge (still on tour & awesome). Respect to Bob.

How anyone, in any part of the world, can suggest even the slightest form of criticism toward these 2 men, the song, or those who collaborated on it... Is, quite simply: beyond ridiculous.
These people are heroes, of the highest order.

No words to describe what Band Aid/Live Aid did to bring about a major change in the way we think about reaching out to our fellow humans. It showed that we need to take action ourselves, no matter how small, instead of depending on our respective governments to do the needful. Sir Bob Geldof paved the way for it and Midge Ure's support for the cause was immense. This was the start of future charity music events that brought about a social change and politicians had to take heed. Huge salute to them and yes, I will be buying and streaming the 40th anniversary mix of 'Feed the World/Do They Know its Christmas Time.' Love and greetings from India.
