I fixed my Galaxy S22 Ultra's battery life

In my recent review of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, I nitpicked the battery life of that device. But as it turns out, it's not entirely Samsung's fault that my battery life was terrible, it was my SIM card that was draining my battery. This is also the reason why I've had bad battery life on my previous three Samsung phones (Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S10+).

I don't know anyone in real life that has a good battery life on the s22 ultra. I refuse to disable everything and not use things but when I am just texting and I see the battery level click off one at a time just from that it makes the phone hard to want to keep

This is why it's stupid to buy a flagship phone, you will end up dissabling every feature in order to save battery.. epitome of stupidity.

Got S22 Ultra since 2 years. Always using 3G, battery is ok. With LTE on, battery life is pathetic. That was solution for me.

I am glad to hear the sim is the culprit because, I travel loads and whenever I use a different sim from Africa specifically Orange in Ivory Coast, my battery is halved

We buy phones for large sums of money to enjoy their features and capabilities, then they tell us to turn off those features so that we can use our phones without problems!! What is the benefit of paying money to buy a phone like this?!!

wow, it never passed through my mind that i should've changed my SIM card... i think mine is 20 years old.. lol... and now im suspecting that could be the reason my signal is mostly on low ( inside my house) outside is a little better but still it should be on max where i live...

OK, so I have had the s22 ultra for 3 weeks now. I'm finding the battery to be very, very poor. Today (15th Nov) I've used the phone for an hour with 6 minutes camera use, 6 minutes of YouTube, 2 minutes of phone calls and text and 1-2 minutes of using a couple of apps. My battery has gone down 20%. Is this normal, or is it the sign of a poor battery?

It doesn't matter sim card or anyhthing, you will notice in battery usage what causes frequent drain, for my case it goes max 4hr soT. and main players are whatsapp and facebook, I disabled facebook but still, it gives 4hr soT.

That is definitely one of the worst user-friendly informations Samsung or any other manufacturers give to us in terms of what's actually draining battery. When you open up the battery settings page and see the graph of battery draining, you only receive information about apps and screen on times, but not a single info about other stuff, system stuff, such as how much the GPS consumes, how much the screen consumes, the bluetooth consumes, the wifi, the cellular signal, the speakers, etc. And if you think this would be useless or irrelevant as if these things doesn't consume much at all, then you're entirely up for new discoveries, because boy oh boy, these things DO consume a lot.

I switched to eSIM, and stopped using the old physical sim, battery life seems no change, still not good. Any idea?

My steps to improve battery life is 1) display resolution 1080p, 2) refresh rate to 60hz, 3) disable "always on display", 6) disable 5G, 7) use dark mode, 8) enable adaptive brightness, 9) enable adaptive battery, 10) disable gps, nfc if dont use it, 11) put in deep sleep all the apps that using rarely and keep in sleep the main.

Can you guys check your phone's max charge voltage at 100% it should be at around 4.45v. I got mine in december and since day 1 the battery charges max to 4.28v and drops voltage to 4.1/4.2v upon charger remove, went to 3 samsung repair centers and they only check the phone with an app and say its fine...
The voltage should be around 4.42/4.45v for a new smartphone

I always had two sim cards in my phone. I actually never use the other one. Throwing it out, it might help the battery life, if this is correct info.

Thanks for sharing this experience. I am also facing heavy battery drain issue, but when I vist Samsung service centre the executives keep telling me that there is no issue with my device at all. I am getting around 5hrs 45 mins of screen time and screen off time of around 6 hrs(I have enabled always on display), is this normal? Can anyone comment?
