Also there is:
Henry (English)
Enrique (Spanish)
Enrico (Italian)
Henrik (Swedish)
Henri (French)
Henrique (Portuguese)
All the same name.

It doesn't take a genius to know that the disciples' names were translated, such a silly question lol

That one thumbs down of this vid must have been the person who made that meme.

amazing that people would use such a bad argument. that is why people should always know more languages.

also to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, they have no language barriers, so answering prayers would be easy. And perhaps on the new earth we will all speak and understand each other through one language.

The English translation for my name is John. I am Greek. My Greek name is Yiannis.

That is exactly what I was talking about yesterday without even knowing this video was out there! Jesus did not speak in English when He was on earth. I knew that when I was a child!

“If the King James Bible was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me”

just keep the original name, , you dont have to change the name and still write the text in english, , example., Yeshua, said, I am the bread of life" simple as that,

Do we know if the Romans would have called him Jesus? Any idea what his Roman name would be?

But what you fail to mention is Roman Counsels guided by emperor Constantine, were the ones who compiled the bible and altered those names.  The reason they altered the names was so the people would be accepting of this doctrine. This is well documented.

So my point is, the "atheists" who mention this are expressing their skepticism over the authority of the Bible.  And how it's a man made doctrine.  The fact that they had to conceal the Real Names, or you could say lie about, is proof it's not God ordained.

Thanks for the Christian microscope approach, though.  But you should really try to see the big picture.

are the characters of the Bible known as different names in all different languages then?

Thanks for posting this my hubby and I have been studying this very thing for quite a while.  Some people believe that b/c the original names were changed then the bible it must be full of contradictions.  My question to you is:  Knowing that the English name for Jesus is actually Yeshua/Yahshua should we use the original name instead?

My name is very little changed from Hebrew, Malachi in hebrew was pronounced Mall-ah-khee, rather than Ma-luh-kai in English.

one thing we all have to realise is modern day hebrew isn't what the torah, tanak and even parts of the new testament were written in.the torah, tanak and parts of the new testament were written in paleo hebrew, which is one of the oldest if not the oldest language in the world.modern day hebrew is a slight distortion of the paleo hebrew and it contains vowel points as most of you know, but paleo hebrew did not contain vowel points and the dead sea scrolls, which predates modern hebrew proves that.the hebrew for Jude is not Yehuda, it is Yahuda.johns name was Yahuchanon, judas name was Yahuda and so was jude.have any of you noticed a pattern in most of the ancient hebrew names? a lot of the names seem to contain 'YAHU' at the beginning or end of them.the father and the sons name is before or after most of the prophets names and this is because there is meaning to it.
