We have a 63 year old female patient complaining of back pain which has been worsening for the last 4 days; she has reported one episode of associated vomiting.

She's been visiting her granddaughter, states she has been carrying her for prolonged periods of time, and reports a history of musculoskeletal back pain.

She usually takes flexeril, which relives her pain, but not this time...

Something we're always telling our community is that clinical practice is much different than an exam.

On an exam, you have one correct answer. But, in real life, anything can be anything.

Eric Gordon PA-C will be breaking down this unusual case presentation, step by step, and he will be dissecting the physical exam, workup, and management.

Im surprised to see muscle strain, herniated disc on "most likely" differentials since the patient stated "pain is not exacerbated by bending or lifting"
