Multiplying a single digit number by & nbsp11,  conveniently results in a & nbsp2  digit number.

With the pattern that the result is the same original single digit appearing twice.

1 × 11  =  11    ,    2 × 11  =  22    ,

3 × 11  =  33     9 × 11  =  99
