Strategy 3 Providing Feedback that Moves Learning Forward

In this strategy Dr. Wiliam breaks down feedback to students. In 1998 he found that comments were more effective than scores or grades. However, the comments need to be helpful. Too much feedback can be backward looking about what the student should have accomplished but didn't. Instead the feedback should be forward looking.
