They have completed dna tests on fur recently found and they have confirmed there are black panthers in UK. Was in the metro paper today.

My young daughter and I saw one in Iron Acton, near Bristol around 20 years ago. We thought it was a black alsatian until we were very close to it and it stood up and walked off. It was 100% puma/panther. We really were very close to it indeed. We were both frightened but I still spent weeks going back with a camera (without my daughter who was terrified) - but sadly I never saw it again.

From now on, I suggest that people who record these videos, then do a comparison test later at the same location. Go and stand at the spot where you filmed the cat, and ideally have a domestic cat with you also on a lead and place it on the ground. That will really determine the sizes of these mystery cats being filmed, because almost every video of these cats I see, there are always trolls claiming 'it is just a house cat'.

I saw the exact same cat that was filmed on the rail track at Helensburgh.

Almost exact same spot as well, I think.

It was a lot more than just a glimpse. No question.

It was really far up the track at first, but it kept getting closer over a period of about 25 minutes.

Eventually I was looking down on it from the road bridge that goes over the track.

Full on panther. Most beautiful thing I've ever seen in the wild. Just magical.

You cant really capture the power of the thing on a phone camera.

It wasn't a big panther. They can get quite beefy in their natural environment. Just quite slim and labrador sized.

You can just tell it could kill you in seconds though.

Loved it.

I saw a black panther yesterday in Oxford!!!! I have the footage, it's a bit grainy because it was on the highest zoom setting. Watched it for 15mins. It was fucking mental!!!!

I wonder if there's actually a breeding group out there? People have been sighting these things for decades now, so can't be just one. I wonder where the hell they came form? Abandoned exotic pets maybe?

There have been big cats released for 'reasons' but this footage looks like a normal pet moggy to me

I saw a lynx on a hot summers day near to a place called Exton in the county of Rutland. I was driving along a country lane, when in the distance I saw this animal. I thought it was a fox and I slowed my car down to a gradual halt. I was now around 100 yards away and could clearly see this was not a fox at all. It was a large type of cat with tufted pointed ears, staring straight at me. I went to move the car a little forward, but this animal took off sprinting like mad and jumped from the road straight into a field full of rape. When I got to the spot where it was, there was nothing to see, it had long gone. I reported this incident to my local panther/big cat group. They told me they was not surprised. It would have been a lynx, because they had received reports from some workmen a few miles away from where I had seen it. When these men were having their dinner breaks each day, they had spotted this lynx quite a few times.

I seen one a few years ago in Fife, Scotland. Black tall, we went back the next day and it had flattened grass a round it and we found a skull of what we believe was a crow bird that it had eaten. We also found paw prints.

I was walking my usual walk in the lake District today and I heard deep growling coming from bushes I have never heard anything like it before in my life. I was petrified. Couldn't see what it was but wanted to get away quickly

I'm not going to say there are no big cats in the UK. All I'm going to say is that this was _NOT_ a _"big cat"._
It was just a _"bigger cat"._ Like my tom cat Albert used to be when he was alive. And he was as soft as anything.
As for the lady who took the footage. If she says it was _"the same height as a Labrador but twice as long", _ I just prey she's not got a driving licence.

I saw one once like, 11 or 12 years ago and I've never forgotten (i live 20min drive from bristol, near cheddar)... was about 3 feet tall, longish body, long tail and was pitch black (it was still light but getting dark fast) I was about 10yo with my friends older brother who was 14 because we left a saw up our den.. never brought the saw back that night.. Heard one VERY close to me and my friends on a walk home through the woods a few years ago aswell... we bolted back to our other friends house who lived like a 2 minute walk from where we heard it.. was the classic rawraaawr sound.. super fucked... never go to the woods without a pocket knife now.. (Swiss army cuz I don't know the laws on knives)

Dear God, it's a normal sized black domestic cat.
That's a tiny field. The old stalks of thistles are approx. 18" - 2' tall and the 'big cat' is considerably lower than them.
How does anyone capable of thought consider this to be real? I've seen 2 big cats and they were at least large Labrador size plus the long tail.
The 'big cat' in this video is a house cat - 100%
It was filmed from 'some distance' according to the uploader. Translate 'some distance' into approx.50 yds and you have a moggy, not a panther.
Big black cats DO exist in he UK but this ain't it.
