This review gave me a little bit of metal whiplash. Admittedly, not everything is mutually exclusive, but according to this review, the RAV4's interior is simultaneously upscale yet dated. The Forester's CVT is something the reviewer doesn't like, yet he also finds that it provides a better driving experience. Somewhat confusing messaging in this video. I can say from experience that the Forester has a more refined chassis and suspension, and RAV4 feels less substantial.

We went looking for an SUV and after watching several reviews, it really came down to between the Rav4 hybrid and the 25 Forester. Being a Toyota and Honda fan, I didnt think the Subaru stood a chance. I've just never considered a Subaru before. We drove the Toyota first. It was ok, but I didn't think it was anything to write home about. One drive in the Forester however, was enough. It feels like you're driving a much nicer vehicle. It's quiet and smooth ride sold it for us. I like our 25 Forester more than any car I've had in a very long time.

It almost seems like you filmed your conclusion before your road test. What you say at the end doesn't really match what you said during the on-road segments.

I hate that all of them are incorporating all the controls into the glorified laptop. I guess I have had way too many computer glitches that have happened in my work life and home life on PC's that makes me fearful to have most all controls inside a computer screen. We get screwed big time when it decides it wants to glitch. Give me all knobs & buttons please

If you live in a cold climate with dirt roads, the Forester has no competition at the price point. End of discussion. Idk why this screen is so confounding for people. It works great and the critical functions have physical controls. Just turn your music on and hit the gas. Enjoy the automatic climate control instead of micro managing the vents like some sort of HVAC Mozart.

The RAV4 has a lot of rattling, it's uncomfortable, loud and interior is pretty outdated compared to the segment.
Subaru's CVT is actually really good.
There's a clear winner.
