As an immigrant, it always surprised me that in the US you always have to pay tips. In this video, I'll show you how much I pay and why.

In Australia we don’t tip at all! Reason being that the minimum wage is high and good enough for people to lead a good life.

It’s ridiculous… I once got on a taxi in the US… the ride was $50 for a 15min ride, and the guy literally turned around and said, “how much are you tipping?” I was honestly surprised and thought it was ridiculous how he was getting $50 for 15min and was still expecting a freakin tip. The tipping culture over there is absolutely ridiculous.

In the UK, we only tip if we want to. It's not a big deal if you don't tip

In Singapore, they discourage anyone from tipping. Even cab drivers say no to it.

In Spain we don’t tip. The price is just the right amount. We tip only if we want, but it is not an obligation. The US system is just crazy

In Saudi Arabia we don’t tip at all since the government gives everyone health insurance and the companies pay enough for the workers

In Malaysia, you don't have to tip at all! If you do give tips in Malaysia, the workers will most probably be shocked and very happy for the tips!

In Norway, you don't tip regardless. Appreciation should not be quantified in money. Being nice and being rich (having enough to give away) is not synonymous.

In germany you don‘t have to tip and if you do, the most people round it up, they don‘t calculate a percentage

It's not just restaurants, it's any service nowadays. Hair, nails, driver, delivery, etc. I've learned to do so much myself and stopped eating out because it's such an unaffordable expectation.

If you leave the tip on table in Thailand, the waitress will run to you and give your money back cos they will think that you forgot😂

Italy.
We usually don't tip.
If we do, they look at you like you are an angel or something 😂.
They don't expect you to tip and, if you do, they are super happy.

In Switzerland we don't have to tip. If the service is good, you normally tip around 2-5 dollars. If the service is bad, you don't tip.

Years ago in New York, my sister was paying her bill for breakfast in just an ordinary coffee shop. She's British. She was settling the bill and left what she considered a good enough tip for the service she had received and the type of establishment. On seeing the tip, the waitress 'threw it back with the words 'You obviously need it more than I do! '. What an attitude!

In Korea, my first time eating at a local restaurant in Seoul I left the cashier after paying. And the ajumma called us and gave me the change. I said “no” and she hold my hand open my palm ang gave me the change with her big smile. It is just a few coins. And she returned it.

“If you don’t tip, they’ll give you a bad look” … I’ve never been able to leave a restaurant in the US without tipping. They will stop you and MAKE you tip. It’s a very very weird experience!

i live in India . When we go to restaurants we don't have to pay them for sure, the waiters don't ask. But we can give them tips as much as we want. It's fine even if it's really less. They don't even ask you again. They're cool no matter if their salaries are low they don't make a demand about tips

I don’t tip. Why should I, another worker, have to pay someone’s salary for simply doing their job? America’s tipping culture is ridiculous.
