Title says “HUGE Canon firmware update”. 2 minutes in to the video he says “this isn’t a huge update”

Much appreciated for your help, but I'm a newbie to photography and I've only had my R10 for less than a month, so can you kindly direct me to where i get the download and how I transfer it onto my camera please. I never even got a book with my R10 except 4 pages in english showing how to install a battery and a card and the rest of the book (half an inch thick) is for all other countries. Share the concern about lifespan of the components with upping the temp limits. The camera has been out a few years and this has been a known problem the entire time. Curious timing on this one. Welcome back! Update finally hit the Canon USA site this morning (Friday, 7/22)

Slightly off topic, but I bought the M50 ii shortly after it came out in 2020. That it never got a firmware update means it’s perfect and beyond improving right? 😜

Good day, I'm currently still using 1.4 firmware and it's been good to me however I was wonder could I just jump to 1.6 or do I need to use 1.5.2 before going to 1.6 or does 1.6 have all updates? Pls and thnks

Simon. Do you think they will releasefor the R3 (maybe R5-6) pre and post burst capturing like the R7 has. This would be amazing for sports. Alsoasside from that perhaps make a video on how you process you still image workflow. I've experienced alot on my R5 the colors aren't the greatest in Lightroom, having to bring them in through DPP first. I've read some data statingt the colors are nicer on the R3 vs the R5-6. Is this true. Have you heard this. Almost thinking to sell my R5 and go for the R3. I shoot sports and family

Waiting for the UK site release but any improvements including bug fixes is welcome. I wonder if the issue for 30min record time is the 8K support, I don't think the new cameras support 8K ? And Canon has its super expensive cine cameras to protect.

Record limit is ridiculous in 2022 on a $4k camera... as is fixing an overheating problem w/ firmware update (showing it was never a hardware issue.) From one r5 owner to another, I feel your frustration, Simon.

apparently many folks couldn't use their R5 in the recent sweltering European heat wave so now that can a little longer. 😄 Best time to bring an update like this out - if it was dead of winter it could have had a different response from owners

To think they haven’t torture tested the R5 through extreme heat cycles is an oversight from some commenting. The camera has always been able to do it all day everyday with the battery door hack. To me the release of this AFTER the R5C (which is essentially an R5 with a fan) means the “overheat timer” on the R5 was artificial from the very beginning to protect the release of the R5C.
