Was jumping this boss with my brother and when she phased shifted I screamed in his ears "She's turning into the pontiff!!"then we both were killed 💀💀💀

I was thinking to myself; Finally be a real Carian Knight boss, not one with a tarnished moveset, despite them also being done quite well.
It was said in the base game that one of the Carian Knights could easily hold against an entire batallion, which was how Rennala held the Academy of Raya Lucaria against the Knights of Cuckoo on one end and the Golden Order on the other.

So I was really looking forward to this and the flow of the battle just kept going on flawlessly.
Rolling her endless attack tirades with just barely throwing in a light attack here and there, before she would disengage and summon Carian Phalanx, I use blackflame blade again and it s onto the next tirade.

I was having so much fun already for a few attempts, fighting her when I noticed her health going down to half and suddenly she does a weird move and the chorus starts pitching up, the OST seemingly accellerating whilst I was watching one of the most epic (interactive) phase transitions there is.

This fight is everything the Carian Knight lore stands for. And I absolutely love it.
Also Fire Sword on the other, similarly to the Sword of Night and Flame in CARIA MANOR that s an INT+FAI weapon.
Amongst all the precious Ancient Dragon lore I saw in the trailer I was forgetting how much i would love this.

Man, 1:36 to 2:06 gives me such a RUSH, it is so intense and engaging that I cant help but love it. The thrill of the battle, the duel of two skilled warriors locked horns in combat. Such an amazing OST...too bad i love Bayle's too much XD

This woman is an absolute unit
that last part with the strings shortly before it loops is truly anxiety-inducing in the fight it´self
It might just be because of a shortage of Scadu-Tree Blessings but I find her so much more difficult than Messmer himself

My headcanon is Rellana was the bastard child of (who ever the mom is) and Pontiff Sulyvahn.
She was hated and neglected by the rest of the royal family, except for Renalla who still loved her.
