Growing up, Sabrina went to a very special summer camper where she met lifelong friends. When she graduated from camper to counselor, she realized that her new responsibilities also came with social pressure. Just like in high school, Sabrina felt the need to fit in with her peers and keep up with the trends.
So, when a group of counselors decided to start using walkie talkies to communicate, Sabrina KNEW she had to get her hands on a pair. When a senior counselor asked her why she didn't have a walkie talkie already, Sabrina practically crumbled with FOMO. She threw on a pair of rain boots and convinced a friend to drive them to Target - in the midst of a TERRIBLE rain storm!
After they finally got their walkie talkies and returned back to camp - soaking wet and full of excitement - Sabrina instantly felt like one of the cool kids. When she woke up the next day, she couldn't wait to show off her walkie talkie to all of her friends. But, before she even had the chance to use her new tech, she found out that the camp director banned walkie talkies for being too distracting. Sabrina was SO defeated!
Looking back, Sabrina has to say to herself, "Trying to fit in at summer camp can be difficult." But she is proud to say that she has learned her lesson, and she will never risk her own safety for the sake of a trend ever again!
