Very interesting video however I was looking for a way to use the Google Sheet (Get Link -Anyone with link can access option) I can pull the .xls file in (Edited in Sheets) via the filename (BUT) if the file moves location or gets renamed then the link is lost. Tried pasting the URL (of the file) but the file wasn't published to the web so it didn't preview or pull the data in. I guess I'd have to publish every one of the 80+ .xls files to the web via Sheets and use the URL that way? Problem is the data is subject to privacy policy and for that reason maybe publishing to the web isn't the option however password secure it might be....

Unfortunately get data from the Web is not a feature in Excel for Mac :-(

using excel 2010 (for the first time. we just updated both our OS and all our programs this week at work so i am double lost. i was using XP last week) - when i try to insert data from the web, my dialog box looks much different - it's trying to display the webpage as well - and when i paste to google link in, i get several dozen script error pop ups. and the page displayed is from google drive telling me to update my browser. any ideas on a work around?

I had high hopes for this method, to get data to Excel that is imported to Sheets using 'importhtml'. Unfortunately, everything comes into Excel with the infamous value of 'Loading...'. Does anyone know a way to introduce some kind of a delay so that Sheets actually finishes refreshing before it exports?

Nice. Still, data is not all live- some delayed. This is not an alternative to real time live data. However, this is ideal for daily updates for anyone creating a historical footprint of their investments.
