I don't even care about longevity or these being prone to damage, I just love seeing these concepts being shown and making me as excited as I was when I bought tech magazines showing off the new Sony Ericsson P900 or Sony Z7. It's these glimpses that make us excited and people like Michael that share their passion with like-minded viewers. Let's hope for more innovation and competition!

When I heard about rollables, my initial thought is that it'll better than foldables. But after seeing the concept protoypes, I don't think it is unless they find a way to remove the requirement of having it roll/unroll with a motor especially with the speed. I don't wanna wait for it to roll and unroll all the time 😄 I want to just pull it out myself.

I would say that, in terms of the laptop, it would make more sense to do a rollable that starts at a regular 16:9/16:10 aspect ratio, and can extend up to something like the Surface laptop display ratios.

Honestly exactly the kind of first look that I would expect from Mr Mobile. See so many that treat the exact item in front of them like the actual product vs the showcase of a possible technology that they really are.
Also loved the sort of casual angle with the laptop. Felt more impromptu like you were reading hasitly written notes.

Honestly, the Rizr is so much more interesting than any foldable so far! Would this finally be an evolution of small phones? I think the idea has tremendous potential if they figure out how to better protect the fragile panel, which in this case is on the exterior of the phone.

Wow, that rollable laptop concept is awesome! I am one who uses a 12.9" iPad Pro in portrait, one of the few I think. With a 13" screen, it's just too cramped using apps side by side -- there's not enough vertical real estate when doing that. This rollable device brings that portrait, large-screen form factor -- to a laptop?! That is the coolest concept I've seen for one of these flexible oled displays thus far, and one I hope we actually see in a consumer model in the not too distant future.

Compared to the past prototypes they showed, it looks interesting and nice. If they do release the RIZR, hopefully it'll carry those extra details needed in nowadays phones.

I was talking about rollables with my dad this weekend, he (he's nearing his 70's) didn't get the foldables because he said that it doesn't make the phones much smaller when fold, yes the X and Y dimensions get smaller but they all get a lot thicker, so it's still not any easier to put it in a pocket. A few years ago they were all the rage though, so I hope this is the year we finally see one!

The riser's really cool, but can you imagine dropping it when the screen's extended 😅. The laptop with the folding tech is such a brilliant idea though. I can imagine it would be great for adjusting the aspect ratio to read a4 PDF's without needing to zoom in. Unlike standard 16:9 displays which just aren't great for that 😅

Honestly the 5 inch square phone form factor called to me the second it came on screen. I don't even need the rollable, give me the width while letting me one-hand every corner of the screen, that looked great.
