People always talk about GTA V, but this is the one that started the current formula. I used to have this game, but I did beat it. This was my first GTA. Though it does show its age now, was mind-blowing when it came out. I can still play it today.

Interesting how we can play games set in a fantasy or science fiction setting amd we can become immersed without really thinking about it, but put us in a game in a modern city amd you notice immediately when it's unrealistic. GTA almost makes you think you're in a real place and it's like a time capsule of what modern cities were like during the years the game is set in

I cant believe its been 20 years.. Like GTA 3 was my whole childhood and back then alot of our parents didn't make a big deal about the violence in the game because we knew it was only a video game..

I remember playing this game just after 9/11. I used to be called Osama and got bullied at primary school for my name and for being Muslim. This game and the ps2 were great distractions for me. Me and my Muslim friends would have sleepovers with Doritos and dips and play this on repeat. Bittersweet memories.
