In addition to inspection, palpation, and percussion, examination of the lungs also involves stethoscope auscultation. First, you will hear bronchial breathing, a loud, high-pitched breathing, which has a distinct pause between inspiration and expiration. Next you will hear bronchovesicular breathing, which produces a sound with an intermediate intensity and pitch, and an equally long inspiratory and expiratory phase. It is heard over the intermediate airways. Finally, there is vesicular breathing, which produces a soft and low pitched breathing, with a longer inspiration than expiration phase. It is heard over the terminal airways and alveoli.

What is the difference between breathing and respiration?👍
Breathing is a biophysical process that involves the exchange of gases through inhalation and exhalation. Respiration is a biochemical process to release energy from organic compounds which are then used for performing different physical activities
