In addition to inspection, palpation, and percussion, examination of the lungs also involves stethoscope auscultation. In this video you will hear fine crackles (rales) in the basal portion of both lungs, especially during inspiration. Fine crackles are abnormal lung sounds that can be heard, for example, in patients with pneumonia.
