Bro Science has always worked because they would put this into practice and see what really happns.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to get jacked. It takes hard work and discipline- something that can't be replicated in a lab 💪

Trial and error is a beautiful thing. Bodybuilding is a self experiment/study where you can not replicate the same results from person to person. Gotta love it ❤

that's why bros have better shapes than nerds, instead of programming prs or deciding how many reps to leave in the tank, they simply know what their body needs to do at that moment.

I think the ideal is to combine science and practice, so I adopted the upper lower 4x for a good frequency, plus an isolated arm and shoulder workout on Saturdays to get a good pump and enjoy. Much of the desire to train comes from doing what we like. I would never do a PPL or Fullbody even if science shows they are better routines because I just hate them

Good point about the scientific studies being based on the short term

I completely agree, nowadays people want what's easy, they don't wanna accept the fact that building muscle is through hard work and effort.

Great work bro, you really have brought the golden Era bodybuilding back to life, unlike some stupid youtubers who always suggest to do some weird workout using some fancy gym equipment or complicate a simple exercise. But they
have forgot that old is gold and golden era bodybuilders have made Greek God physique by these simple exercises.
In today's world we really need a guy like u. I really feel happy after watching your videos which remind me of old golden Era.

Couldn't agree more! Bottom line is, if it works for you, DO IT! Just be safe and consistent.

what I always say is train the way that is the most fun for you and that you'll stick to. Really high volume superset workouts are my favorite way to train, so that is how I train.

Science is great at understanding the small steps of a process
Something like a lifting journey is very complicated, with infinite variables, beyond the scope of anything we have in the literature
In the context of bodybuilding, science most times just explains why something works, not what you should do, and that is good and there is tons of things that only became accepted and consolidated because of scientific research
Do what works because science will probably explain why someday, but never expect to make the perfect program from the knowledge you get from review papers. I feel like a lot of people have it flipped, expecting that "science" will just come up with the perfect thing for everyone. Science will lead to the principles of lifting, on which the programs will be based on, never programs themselves

One of the biggest issues is science literacy. A lot of these studies explicitly tell you here is what we looked at, here is the time period, he are the results we found, here are some conclusions we can make, BUT...and people ignore everything they said afterwards. Studies often show the most ideal ways to train but they almost always qualify it with something to the effect of "this is not the only way and may not be the best way for you." What happens is you often get two different camps, those that stick strictly to what "science" said even though it was more nuanced than that and those that dismiss what "science" said because they've done it a different way even though science said both ways are good, neither is bad, there is just most ideal but not necessarily most ideal in every circumstance and not the only way. I get frustrated as someone who is a data analyst and try to explain to people we make projections based upon what they data CAN tell us then we try to think about other aspects the data may not tell us then make a projection but people too often want absolutes and sometimes the data is not absolute, it tells you it's not absolute but people just ignore some of those parts.

I currently train each muscle group 1 time per week. This helps me put my entire focus into one muscle group per workout. It might not be popular, but I feel great doing it.

After a while trying different stuff, you should customize your training to your goals and needs. This is the last red pill when it comes to training. Of course keep doing research and try different programs, but you should put together a program that works best for you. Currently, I'm doing upper/lower 4-5 days/week depending on how I feel and I manage to still get stronger and bigger after 10+ years training. Still learning my body.
