The “new AirPods Max” shouldn’t be called new. They are just new colors and a USB-C port. No other changes to anything else.

Edit: 9to5Mac found that it’s literally identical hardware.

$549 for these headphones 🎧 is nuts, Soundcore's Space One Pro is $199 and sounds way better, it might not have SPATIAL AUDIO but for the price, the bass is way better than the Air Pods Max

They’re still rocking the H1 chip… not even the cheapest version of AirPods now use H1, they’re all on H2

they should’ve supported lossless via wired, included a power button, better battery life, somewhat better drivers, and the new chipset that the rest of the AirPods lineup received but guess apples too stingy for that

I was able to get the older version from Costco for $220 Canadian less than the new version, that’s including AppleCare, because AppleCare is $20 Canadian more for the new version it’s for the old version so there’s a little savings there too

I mean at least they didn’t call them AirPods Max 2. They basically just did the same thing they did with AirPods Pro last year. So here’s to hoping 2025 brings AirPods Max 2
