I painted a polar bear last year and I used shades of yellow, purple, and gray in addition to white.

Thanks to David Attenborough and others we have discovered that Polar Bear fir is iridescent and so shows all of the colours surrounding it. Your painting demonstrates this effect really well, an amazing piece of work, as always. Thank you so much.

that is wonderful, the polar bear painting I have just needed.How surprising I am to see all the browns and beigesetzt undertones.It is clear now that a big mistake I made trying to paint white fur, was painting it all white and just glazing with dark values .Thank you very much

By alkyd oils … do you mean you simply premixed your oils with alkyd?
