great help, hopefully I can get my level 8/9 in the exam. I think I definitely struggle the most with explaning the writer's intention, so this video really helped outline how to do that. Will update (if I remember) with results in august :) thanks Henry!

Whenever I see grade 9 model answers of like 30 markers of Inspector calls or a Christmas Carol or whatever everyone states the quotes and explains them and what it suggests but our teacher tells us to take out words with in the quote and say the method like if it’s a simile or metaphor and what do u associate with them and what it infers about the character and the authors ideas. And sometimes she says write a thesis statement and sometimes she doesn’t but I don’t understand when to use it. I’m in year 10 and scraping atleast a 6/7 in literature. This video helps a lot 😊

What was your process of revision for English lit in terms of learning the quotes? Did you find quotes for key themes or characters and how did you do this? I’ve also heard it is a good idea to memorise grade 9 analysis for quotes - how did you go about getting and then learning the analysis for quotes?

I’m doing my english lit in year 10, I have done my paper 1 mock (52/64) and my paper 2 mock is in a couple of weeks. I’m currently on an 8 but I feel like I might drop on paper 2, since I’m quite confident with paper 1. how would you advise going from an 8 to a 9? i think my main issue could be my essay writing.. Henry I need your help, I'm in year 11 and I got my real GCSE's in 2 months, I really want to get a few grade 9's (perhaps a few 8's as well) in especially english and maths. Rn Im at a 4 in maths (I just moved from foundation) and I was wondering if you think its possible to jump from a grade 4 to a grade 9? In English I'm working at a grade 6 in general but I really want a 9, any help would be greatly appreciated
