Love it. I don't actually need a silent hub, just not a screaming one. Then again, the loud ones are good for alerting hikers, slowpokes and wildlife, as well as the intimidation factor when racing. 😏

I love the sound on the hub, it keeps the pedestrians notified in the city, the hikers, alerts wildlife so they will steer away. But I have to admit my gf has a silent one and I like it, very peaceful rides.

The silent setup is must for me. When the tire rolls against the ground, the sound is meditative!

My friend who doesn't know about bikes just bought his first expensive bike and promptly rang the manufacturer thinking it was broken 😅. I don't want a loud hub on my bike, bikes are meant to be peaceful and natural even if you're going along like a rocket

Well, it may be loud or quiet. The real problem is, bicycles ridden this way, in the rough, can actually put a lot of strain in the body, particularly the shoulder joints that are stressed by that rough vibrations they get from the hard ride, usually the Shoulder joints, Clavicles, Coracoid process, Acromions, Clenoid cavity, Scapukas and finally impacting hard on the rear of the rib cage. But the hardest impact and vibration that shows pain after being shaken hard during a day in the rough ride is the wrist, carpal bones, Ulna, Radius, followed by the arms joints and up towards the shoulder joints.

This aggressive impact from the handle bar, especially from bicycles that have no softening up/down impact, will wear out the cartilages from all these joints that, over the years, will start to cause pains, dryness from over working of the joints and does not increase in producing lubricating liquid to keep all joint going longer.

By the time you reach 40, you will be plagued with unbearable pain that will make you regret doing this type of riding without getting medical advice first.

Stick to smooth road or path riding where the impact is cushioned and less aggressive to your joints. Don't think that you're a shock absorbers trying to beat the rough ride because tomorrow you'll regret the mistake. Even rough riding can cause discomfort to the rest of your joints down the southern end of your body, Hips, Knees, Feet, etc. God bless you. 🙂👍

Mine is also like yours . I usually start going out at 6 A.M . In that time i barely see any cars in the streets . Right when i start speeding a bit, i hear my tires touching the tarmac . That's so amazing

Onyx hubs, get a coil shock on front and rear and a good set xc tires and your bike will be SILENT on the trails.. love it!
