Thank you for explaining the removal and replacement in a clear calm professional voice. The clip I’d watched previously had a shouty, hand waving man, I gave him the off button after 30 seconds.

I just spent literally half an hour in the shower with my two spray arms trying to get out every little last piece. Unscrewed the shower head (from a flexible hose) and just kept going at it from every angle. Found some lemon pips which were the hardest to coax out. If you have access to a garden hose that might be a good way to spray the water in at high pressure and not get it all over the kitchen. Literally cannot believe you can't dismantle these things.

I found submerging the arm in water, then draining the water out through the inlet hole works pretty well. some stuff still needs the tweezer approach if stuck in the holes.

Thanks, I successfully fixed my dishwasher without a repairman!!

they gotta make the arms such that they snap together or something so you CAN remove stubborn blockage rather than buy new.

Finally fixed mine, put a video cam and light inside. Top spinner was not turning, holes were clear on both sides and I could blow through it. finally I took it off, held the center port up tight to outside faucet on high, and blew it out for a minute and now it works like new. Crazy.

Pulling out this piece of plastic out of sprayer, made my think that could be my problem, because as my plumber discovered a drainige hose was clogged with a piece of plastic...apparently from dishwashing cubes, currently sold as recomended for best washing experience. It turns out that these plastic wrappers that suppose to dissolve in hot water don't decompose, instead accumulate and clog dishwaher's outlets...

thank you, very helpful. There is a bead of plastic/silicon like stuff along the skinny channels on the sides near the bottom. I can't tell if it this was originally in the dishwasher or is build up from over the years of plastic (as someone mentioned maybe those pod things?) Its all crumbly anyway so I'm taking it out, but wonder if it was meant to be there. Doesn't seem to help the bottom slide in and out.

Hello Ransom - Great video!. If the top arm is not rotating at all (bottom one fine) but has no blockages, do you have any suggestions please?

Going to test running a pressure washer nozzle in to the bottom spray arm. Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the video, my spinner fell off but I couldn't figure out how it attached, but then watched this and found the nut in the drain lol

The spray arms in my dishwasher drive me nuts. They constantly get bits of food stuck in them so they don't rinse properly. How do bits that are too big to come out even get in there? And why don't they design them so you can open them up for cleaning?
