Permanently disabled and he states he works/started a "cleaning business"? Yes, people can work while on disability. However they usually don't work "physical" labor. "Disability" is usually awarded when you cannot work at ANY gainful employment. If his stent allows him to clean houses, he should be able to work at almost any "desk" job. JJs not going to take that info favorably towards the Plaintiff.

Cases for disability always make me tense. Like I can clean my house..
I helped a friend clean theirs once. And I helped a lady once by sitting on a chair sorting through boxes of things.

But I cannot do that on a regular basis.

Otoh I didn't do 12 weeks of cleaning either.

Cases like this make it harder for people like me to be taken seriously when we can't get a job.

Great video, A month ago, my five-year relationship came to an end. I really can't stop thinking about the love of my life, who made the decision to leave me. The only thing I don't like about judge Judy is this. She is so out of touch with people who are in need of government benefits. I've seen her go after mothers who get food stamps all "why do you have a cell phone then!!" as if there's a way for someone to function without a cell phone in this day, as if all phones are 5000 dollars, when there's plenty of phones for 20-30 dollars, or even free ones. I've seen her go after multiple people on disability, because she doesn't understand how unbelievably difficult it is to get disability benefits. It's not only incredibly difficult, it's degrading, demeaning, and stressful, plus being on disability means you can't get married without losing your benefits, and can't have money in the bank so you're never able to build up enough money to actually get out of poverty. This guy gets additional money because of the work he did and the fact that his wife died. Most people get between 700 and 900 dollars. Per month. And that's all. Can't work. Not allowed to get given money. Still gotta pay rent. Still gotta buy food. Still gotta buy medicine. Still gotta buy household items. So no, no one is living the easy life on disability. Judge Judy acts like everyone on disability is a mooch. Because she's never known anyone poor enough to have to go through that process to support themselves. Look her up, she was born rich, married rich twice, and stayed rich her whole life. If someone around her was injured, they could afford to support themselves through passive income from their comfortable life of fame- her husband was on tv too! So please, when you see this shit, understand that it's not a funny 'gotcha' moment, she's showing her ignorance and the results of the padded, pampered life she's lived. Sure, she went to law school and worked hard in court, but has she ever had to take out a loan? Has she ever been scared her rent was due? Has anything ever broken that she couldn't replace? Has she ever had to consider what she'd do for money if she woke up tomorrow and could never work again? Nah. So as far as I'm concerned, she can HUSH.
