The Darksaber has thrust Mandalorian culture into the spotlight. But did you know Tarre Vizsla, the weapon’s creator, is not the most renowned Jedi to embrace Mandalorian traditions? Revan, known as an adversary of the Mandalorian people, was also known for wearing a Mandalorian mask.

This artifact originally belonged to a courageous Mandalorian woman who served under Cassus Fett during the Mandalorian Wars. But when Fett planned to commit genocide against the Cathar people, she pleaded for him to reconsider. Her desperate pleas fell on deaf ears, and Fett proceeded with his horrific plan, mercilessly slaying the woman along with the Cathar. Ten years later, Revan discovered her mask as he, Malak, and a Jedi faction searched Cathar for evidence of the Mandalorians’ atrocities. As he picked up the mask, all the Jedi present had a vision of these past events. Deeply moved, Revan donned the mask as a tribute to the fallen Mandalorian woman who bravely defended the Cathar people, vowing to not remove the mask until he brought the Mandalorians to justice.

Revan wearing the mask was a symbol of his vow to stop the mandalorians. It had nothing to do with the mando traditions.

I was hoping this is how Filoni was going to bring Revan into the new Canon. Children of the Watch don't take of their masks. This could easily be explained as being a tribute to Revan since he too vowed not to take off his mask.
