In this tutorial, you will learn one of the most amazing features of Fusion 360 - Parametric Modeling. What is that? Well, simply said, it is modeling using parameters. What are parameters? Watch the lesson already!

I am taking this series so I can learn to convert paper plans of radio controlled aircraft to digital format and thus cut on a laser printer. This is just perfect as it allows me to use one design and make the plans available for different sized motors. This was really an unexpected benefit to fusion 360. First of all, your tutorials are awesome! I've learned a lot already. Coming from FreeCad, I had the basic skills already, but it's always a challenge to switch to another software. Really enjoyed the parametric modeling, makes it alot faster to change sizes between testmodel 3d prints etc!

PHEWWWwwww. That one took me a while to get through. One small issue I'm having is seeing enough contrast between lines and symbols. For example, early on you talk about moving your cursor along the straight construction line until it turns to a triangle. Well, I tried to follow many times and just thought "That's not working for me!" until I really zoomed in and watched REALLY carefully. Thought I'd go find where to change some default colors to have more contrast, but couldn't figure out where to do that. Like make the background darker and the lines and symbols white or brighter blue - something! One other thing I wish existed was if I click on a face for example - that fusion would somehow highlight what sketch and extrude pertain to that face so it'd be a lot easier to find it in the history (or even in the browser list). One gotcha I encountered was trying to select all the edges to chamfer. I missed one. Then I tried to just add the one that I missed and of course it was trying to chamfer the corner again on both ends of the line - so it wouldn't work. Gave up and made sure I selected them all, all over again, until I got it right. Long winded comment, I know. I'll keep going through these because I think they're the best on the web.

Useful for my hex head designs so I can change the size proportionally. Useful for modeling different size bolt heads.

You can also change all the measurements to parameters under the model parameters in the parameters pane, that way you don't have to click around in the timeline and edit each sketch separately.

I just finished the dice and intro to parametric modeling. Very good lesson. I went over it several times in areas that I didn't feel comfortable. But I got through it. I find myself thinking in 3d modeling between lessons.

There are any number of F360 videos, but too many of them were published by people who don't understand the first thing about teaching. This one episode demonstrates your expertise with that skill. It took a good bit of planning to come up with the dice example of how to do it the hard way and how to do it parametrically. Bravo! Subbed and liked.

Nicely presented. Drove me a little nuts in the beginning when you started off using hard coded values, but then it made sense when you showed the problems that causes and thus why parameter values are so powerful. Well done.
