Gang guilty of over £50m Universal Credit benefit fraud

Bulgarian nationals, Galina Nikolova, 38, Stoyan Stoyanov, 27, Tsvetka Todorova, 52, Gyunesh Ali, 33, and Patritsia Paneva, 26, have pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering-related offences.

Ben Reid, Specialist Prosecutor for the CPS, described it as "the largest benefit fraud prosecution ever brought to the courts in England and Wales", as Sky's Rachael Venables explains.

i've only ever needed help once in my 20 year working life, and that was during covid when it was impossible for me to find work. always paid into the system knowing what we have here is not free. not a single penny claimed till that point.
after going to the job center and going through all the hassle, i was entitled to £565 a month - my rent was £525 - and that was cheap for the area
£40 a month to eat and find work - after 20 years, paying £1000s so others can sit on their arse

the system is a f-ing joke

This is disgusting. My son (21) with a severe physical and mental disability will never be able to live a normal life or have a job but because he is already on a college course, he cant claim universal credit that would exempt him from dentist and prescription fees. The system needs to change and stop penalising the wrong people.
