Do you know if this radio will communicate with GMRS users while in analog mode and of course, only in case of emergency life-threatening?

the screen doesn't look so great on camera - is it better in person?

Right now I have a internal fight for buy this radio. But maybe i sale my 5055 and buy this one. I think if you connect the radio on a power supply (20amp) we will get couple more watts, easy to 50w.

How is the receiver? I found the receiver on the Anytone UV578 didn't pick up on analog very good. I went back to my ID-5100.

Could you please help me with installing the CPS software for the DMR? I've even tried the updated CPEditor with no luck. I'm about ready to send the radio back because emailing back and forth with Radioddity isn't really any help at all.
So I'm just asking for some guidance on installing the software. Is there a video out there that shows the instalation process? Thanks!!

How did you connect to parrot? Hotspot or repeater, and can you use both with this radio. Thanks in advance.

I have one I bought back in Dec of 2023. It has squelch adjustment problems, too much hysteresis, When in crossband mode, it stops working after lets say 10min's and I have to turn it off then back on. Radio definitely needs a some kind of firmware update.

I have the db25. I get good reports going into a repeater. Sounds ok on DMR parrot. I run it through the 12V accessory port.
Will say the CPS is totally trash though. There's a 3rd party version that works better.
DB40 misses the mark like AnyTone IMO. No detachable face

So do you not need to be a rocket scientist to use this radio for dmr?

how do you talk to people from all over the place in 2023, everyone is so polarized and isolated from eachother by social media, it seems like it'll be fine, but then the FIRST person to express a religious or political opinion and it's all out the window, you got a bunch of stupid apes arguing back and forth about how right the other is (thats how CB radio was for me when i tried that back when CB used to be a thing) i dont think they even use it anymore, not in ohio where i live, my radio never picked up anything, i was thinking of tying to get into HAM, but it looks pretty irritating to try and get into just for fun, cuz none of it looks very fun to me, lol speaking of that, what else can one do with HAM without talking to people, because i have zero interest in talking or people, but the idea of it seems cool i'm just 43, disabled and bored as heck, thought i'd try something to help with depression. this looks interesting, but i guess i need to go through your vids here and see whats up with HAM, so far not very many of the other HAM stuff on youtube is this well put together so ive been enjoying watching, thanks for all the effort and work and stuff. i usually need more information then regular folks to understand anything :)
